About the tour
After breakfast this tour will take you by tuk-tuk along green rice fields, rubber plantations and through local villages. The area around Bukit Lawang has been hardly touched by tourism and has retained much of its rural magic. Explore tranquil streets, lined with traditional wooden houses and lush greenery. Many Indonesian children will be waving their “hellos” along the way. On this unique tour you will observe the ancient routine of planting and harvesting rice and explore everyday village life. You will see how people live in Kampung Bukit and how they produce brown sugar, tofu, rubber and how they weave bamboo for their houses.
