HOW DOES IT WORK


Below you can read about the ticketing process from start to finish. Please let us know if you have any questions!


STEP 1: Add boat tickets to the cart

Please click “order now” and add the boat tickets to your cart. In general, the boat company publishes the current boat schedule and sells the boat tickets at the end of the previous month. If you would like to book your tickets before the office starts selling, we will note your booking in our calendar and contact you as soon as purchasing a ticket is possible. Ensure that the full name and passport number for each passenger are entered correctly. If this information is incomplete or incorrect, it may result in our inability to purchase a boat ticket for you, or your boat ticket being rejected during check-in, requiring you to purchase a new one.


STEP 2: Wait for the availibility confirmation

We will check your requested dates with the office and inform you about ticket availability within 24 hours. If your dates are available we will send you an email with the payment instructions. For the payment, we use Wise. This is a reliable online payment system. The bank transaction cost of 3% is not included in the price.


STEP 3: Transfer the payment

After receiving our confirmation, transfer the payment as soon as possible. Once we have received your payment we will purchase your tickets.. Occasionally, in the time between you transferring the payment and us going to the office all the tickets will already be sold out. Therefore, we would like to emphasize that your booking is not guaranteed until we send you the digital invoice as proof that the ticket has been purchased. In the unfortunate case that all tickets are sold out, we will of course refund 100% of your payment.


STEP 4: Receive the digital invoice

We will send you the invoice as proof that the tickets have been purchased. When you receive this digital invoice, this is a confirmation that you are guaranteed a seat on the boat. Please note, this invoice is not the boat ticket. On the day of departure we will meet you at the Kartini Jepara harbour in Jepara, to exchange the invoice for the boat ticket. If you are traveling from Karimunjawa to Jepara you can exchange your invoice for the boat ticket on the day of departure by yourself at the office in the harbour of Karimunjawa.


STEP 5: Your travel from Jepara to Karimunjawa

 

Our hosts, Mas Harjono or Mbak Yayuk, will give you your boat ticket one hour before departure time. The meeting point is at TIC Jepara (Tourist Information Center Jepara) in the Kartini Jepara harbour. Please make sure you arrive at the meeting point one hour before departure time. We can’t refund your money if you are too late and miss the boat. When there is a long queue it is possible we will arrive less than 60 minutes before departure time. Don’t worry, we will come!


STEP 6: Your travel from Karimunjawa to Jepara

One hour before departure you can exchange your invoice by yourself at the Bahari Express office. You will find the office on the left side just before you enter the harbour. Please make sure you are in the Karimunjawa harbour one hour before departure time. We can’t refund your money if you are too late and miss the boat.
